PHOTOS, VIDEO: Ride the All-New “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” Dark Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood

When Universal Studios Hollywood reopens on April 16th after its yearlong COVID-19 closure, “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” will open to guests as well. The ride was in technical rehearsal during “Taste of Universal” and we were able to catch a ride.

After leaving Snowball’s room, it’s time for guests to hop into their very own cardboard box and go on a journey through the world of The Secret Life of Pets.

Once riders are onboard the attraction, they transform into puppies! Max, Duke, Gidget, and Snowball lead a journey through the streets of New York City — culminating with being adopted into a forever home.

The ride stars the movies’ original voice cast (with the exception of Max, whose voice actor was replaced for the second film and the attraction). It is packed with pets, featuring 64 animatronics.

Like Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood is only selling tickets to California residents at this time. For more information about the reopening, check out their website.

I don’t get why they did the seats like it’s a rollercoaster. Does Universal want people to be uncomfortable?

That looks great – the queue looks as fun as the ride! Such a rarity to see animatronics used in a queue.
