Walt Disney World to Continue Facial Recognition Testing for Park Entry

Last month, we broke the news about the beginning of facial recognition testing at the Magic Kingdom. While the Walt Disney World website initially declared it a 30-day testing period, the wording has been updated to simply “a limited test” with “length of test subject to change.” The test was originally scheduled to conclude Friday, April 23rd.

Disney previously sent out a survey to guests who participated in the limited-time test. The extension of the test isn’t surprising since Walt Disney World has been moving toward more touchless technology, most recently with the rollout of MagicMobile to allow phones to operate as MagicBands.

Check out our step-by-step look at the facial recognition testing at the Magic Kingdom before you head to the park and watch the video below to see the process in action.
