Hello friends, and welcome to another beautiful day here at the Magic Kingdom! We had a quiet day today, but we enjoyed checking out all the construction updates in this beautiful cooler weather. We found some things to show you, so let’s get started!
With the temperature screenings removed from entry points into Walt Disney World, dispersing the crowd of guests as they enter the Transportation and Ticket Center to keep lines short is no longer necessary. For the first time since the reopening of the parks, the road under the overpass has been closed to guest foot traffic, and all guests are being directed to use the sidewalk to approach the security screening area.
Once inside the Transportation and Ticket Center, we saw that all of the supports in between the ticket boots and the Monorail station had been painted blue.
Inside the park, we found more work had been done on the removal of the iconic gear pavement in Tomorrowland, with a large new section of plain concrete. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
At Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station, we found the giraffe car had had it’s trim changed from bronze to gold.
The clown car has had it’s trim sanded in preparation for painting.
We found four of the eagles adorning Prince Charming Regal Carrousel have been removed for refurbishment and replaced with flat printed images.
On the Jungle Cruise, we found a small change to the Rhino Pole scene with the addition of mulch behind the pole itself along the line of landscaping. We will be watching this area closely for further developments.
Though the official policies have changed regarding mask wearing and physical distancing, signage has been slow to change in Walt Disney World. The digital information board, despite theoretically being easier to change than a printed sign, still shows old information regarding these policies.
With these policy changes being made, we are seeing other things change across Walt Disney World property concerning physical distancing on attractions and during shows. Today we saw that physical distancing in between parties had been reduced on Splash Mountain. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
While usually only brought out during Rainy Day Cavalcades, we saw A Goofy Cavalcade using this double decker bus in place of their normal float today. Dancers were still present but no one was walking stilts during this cavalcade.
While there wasn’t a lot of new merchandise today, we did find two pieces to show you, starting with this rainbow spiral tie dye sweatshirt featuring the phrase “Livin’ My Best Life”, available at The Emporium for $44.99.
Nearby at Bay View Gifts in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we found this new addition to this year’s Americana line, available for $24.99.
