Repainting continues across the Magic Kingdom as we draw closer to its 50th anniversary on October 1st. Over in Tomorrowland, the Cool Ship has been behind construction walls since March. We stopped by this morning to see how progress is going at this far-out drink stand.
The ongoing saga of the leg repainting continues! Back in April, the legs of the Cool Ship and the adjacent Cool Scanner were painted black. Then they were repainted silver.
Now, it appears they’ve been sanded down again. The geometric accents have been covered and sealed with blue painter’s tape. We’ll have to wait and see what color they are painted this time.
The marquee is looking rough, having been sanded for repainting. The very top of the sign, including the Cool Ship lettering, has already received a coat of dark blue paint.
The iconic red rocket has had another coat of paint. The “Thirst Rangers” logo is now completely obscured.
At the Cool Scanner, we can see more of the preparation for leg repainting. The circular windows have been covered and taped off.
