As Walt Disney World begins to change its physical distancing protocols to comply with new CDC guidelines, testing has begun on queues without any sort of floor distancing markers at EPCOT.

Outside Test Track, markers have been removed as guests approach the attraction.

Currently, the test is being conducted in the ride’s extended queue, which is outdoors. This seems like a safer place to test the idea, with transmission less likely outdoors than inside.

Recently, distancing requirements have been drastically reduced since the CDC announced that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to distance. At The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, parties are now being seated in all rows of the attraction, though we did notice markers still being used in the queue.

At the same time, markers have been removed from the exterior queue to the Mexico Pavilion in World Showcase.

Signage reminding guests that face coverings are required at all times except when actively eating or drinking while stationary still stands outside the queue, now as a reminder that these rules still stand once inside.

Once quests enter the pavilion, markers continue to line the interior queue , at least for now. As of the writing of this article, there’s no word as to how long this test will last, or if other attractions will join the fold, but we will report on any updates as we learn them.
