Construction began last weekend on a new Moana inspired sand sculpture at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and now the work is complete!
This sculpture can be found on the Discovery Island stage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
To the left, we see a sign letting guests know that the sand sculpture is inspired by Disneyās Moana.
The bottom half of the sculpture features marine wildlife such as dolphins, fish, and sea turtles.
In the middle of the design we spotted Moana’s boat!
The island landscape is actually a resting caricature of Te Fiti.
The green “heart of Te Fiti” is the focal point of this sculpture, as it is the only part of the design that is painted in color.
With her heart returned, Te Fiti is resting peacefully!
This sculpture is part of “Asian Pacific American Heritage Month”, a month-long celebration at Walt Disney World that is honoring the Asian American and Pacific Islander community with unique and special offerings throughout Disney Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs.
