As stealthily as a bounty hunter, a new addition made a surprise debut at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland.

A new Legacy Darksaber, as seen on the Disney+ Original Series The Mandalorian, is now available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.

Today marked the start of a “presale” for the Darksaber. It is expected to sell out fast, then return in July. Fans looking to add it to their collection had have the patience of a Jedi. Our reporter noticed guests experiencing five to six hour waits through virtual queuing.

The Darksaber comes with a black hilt, made of plastic and metal, and a detachable angular white blade with a long black stripe, replicating the pulsing visual effect that the Darksaber emits.

The box is also custom to the Darksaber, with the whole package wrapped in shrink-wrap. Sadly, it is not hard plastic like the other Legacy Lightsaber cases.

Outside the box, it makes for a very intimidating accessory.

Once we picked it up, we found that the Darksaber is made mostly of plastic, which feels slightly disappointing for its high price tag. Only portions of the hilt are metal.

Still, it is pretty cool to wave around Batuu.

The hilt is nicely detailed, even if it is mostly plastic.

The very bottom is a nice silver, which accents the look.

It looks even more impressive at night.

If you’re looking to wield its power, be forewarned that the saber retails for $199.99. In addition, a Cast Member notified us that once their existing quantities sell out, it won’t be available again until later this summer, when a restock is expected. But if you can’t wait to see it, check out our video of the new item!

Looking for something more traditional? Be sure to check out this Rey Legacy Lightsaber that arrived last week, and keep reading WDWNT and Disneyland News Today for more new offerings straight from Black Spire Outpost!

  1. Looks nice, a bit more show-accurate, but I think I’ll stick with the $25 toy one I got. Blade looks better anyway.

  2. Quit saying it’s from “The Mandalorian”. The darksaber debuted over 10 years ago on The Clone Wars and was also featured heavily in Rebels.

    • This isn’t really a hardcore Star Wars fan-site, so we have to write for everyone. Most people know The Mandalorian and not those animated programs.
