A few days ago we learned that Walt Disney World would be reducing physical distancing in some areas. The requirement of six feet between parties would be kept in areas where guests remove their masks (including dining areas and relaxation stations), as well as inside shops. Distancing in other areas would be reduced or removed in phases.
Some signs at Disney’s Contemporary Resort have now been altered to no longer specify the amount of physical distancing required.
Stickers have been placed over the arrows that indicated six feet or two meters of distancing is required.
Disney has not announced what distancing will be reduced to. It may depend on the area and if it is indoors or outdoors.
This change comes not long after a study found theme parks could safely reduce physical distancing to three feet and Universal Orlando Resort subsequently reduced its physical distancing requirement to three feet. Temperature checks are also being removed.
The distance has yet to be covered with a sticker on some signs.
This one is not far from the entrance to Chef Mickey’s, so it may remain uncovered on purpose.
Physical distancing markers in the resort were still six feet apart.
How do you feel about physical distancing being reduced? Let us know in the comments.
Wait. Wash my hands?
Cover my face when sneezing or coughing?
Thank you Disney for telling me this… I had no idea until now.
It’s time for all this nonsense to go away! Just ask the CDC! (If you can find a straight answer!) All of WDW should now ONLY require masks in crowded indoor situations and no masks outdoors at all.
I agree!!
No masks anywhere. It’s been obvious for months “the science” is unclear relative to masks. Breathable cloth masks essentially are just a placebo to either make people feel good or still in place because those who so loudly espouse them after originally saying they were worthless have to save face for all the disruption they caused.
went to disney last december. the 6′ distancing among the people there was a joke!
