Some booths and food trucks have popped up throughout Universal Studios Florida for a small summer food festival. Today we visited this food booth between the park’s Springfield and London areas.
The “summer bites” at this booth are a tripleta and yucca fritta (which are vegan and gluten-free). We ordered both for a nice-sized lunch.
Tripleta – $14.99
Marinated steak, grilled ham, roast pork, crispy potato sticks, cabbage, mayo-ketchup, Pan Sobao
This sandwich didn’t look appealing to us so we were fully prepared to hate it. Thankfully, we were wrong and it was incredible!
The sandwich bread was soft, fresh, and slightly toasted on the inside.
The Swiss cheese was delicious and we could taste it in every bite. The mayo-ketchup tasted slightly sweet and was an excellent way to top it off.
The meat was impressively tender and juicy.
There was a little bit of shredded lettuce and sliced tomato on the bottom.
Potato sticks on top of sandwiches must be a new trend here, and they did add a nice crunch. This was a very filling sandwich.
Yucca Fritta – $5.99
Garlic and onion mojo, mayo-ketchup
These were crunchy and crispy.
The sweet onion mojo on top was similar to the sweet onion on the Mardi Gras brats. It was a nice addition, but we would have eaten these plain too.
The may-ketchup served on the side has a sweet and tangy zip to it.
We really enjoyed both the tripleta and the yucca fritta and fully recommend them.
