Two Mother’s Day desserts are available for a limited time at Beach Club Marketplace inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort. A Mother’s Day Bouquet Cupcake and a “Sweeter Than Roses” Raspberry Mousse are sure to bring a smile to mom’s face. Remember, Mother’s Day is May 9, 2021!

Both desserts are colorful and certainly say “Mother’s Day” and “Spring.”

Mother’s Day Bouquet Cupcake – $5.49

The red velvet cupcake is topped with frosting flowers, tiny leaves, and edible pearls.

The Mother’s Day Bouquet Cupcake isn’t trying to do anything new or unique. A standard red velvet cake — which was moist though not particularly flavorful — forms the foundation of the cupcake.

The chocolate buttercream filling is nothing to write home to your mother about, either, as it delivers the expected overly-sweet milk chocolate flavor you’d expect.

Topping the cupcake is a very thick layer of buttercream frosting in the form of flowers to finish the namesake design. The frosting, like the rest of the cupcake, is serviceable but doesn’t stand out.

Overall this is a nicely designed — but otherwise generic — cupcake which can satisfy those with a sweet tooth or a craving for red velvet but brings nothing new to the table.

“Sweeter Than Roses” Raspberry Mousse – $5.79

Overall, this is a nice dessert without being too heavy on the raspberry.

The mousse and cake are topped with raspberries and edible decorations, including a flower.

The hazelnut chocolate cake is moist and dense, and while we would have preferred more of a dark chocolate pairing, it’s still works well as the base. There’s little in the way of hazelnut flavor, though, so don’t count on that being noticeable.

The raspberry center and fresh raspberry on top add the perfect amount of lively fruit taste to the dish. Despite its “Sweeter Than Roses” name, this cake delivers the right amount of sweetness instead of overdoing it, and for us, that’s the best gift of all.

Both desserts are available through May 9th, so act fast if you want to surprise mom with one of these limited-time treats.
