D23 Celebrates 5th Anniversary of Shanghai Disney Resort with Special Virtual Event

D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, announced a virtual event to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Shanghai Disney Resort. The event will premier on Wednesday, June 16 at 4:00 pm PT and will be available to watch through Friday, July 9 at 11:45 pm PT.

The virtual celebration, hosted by Leslie Iwerks, will feature the voices of an elite group of Imagineers and Disney creative talent. You’ll get to hear about the history of the park, including behind-the-scenes stories and exclusive commentary about artwork, entertainment and other park highlights.

You will also get a sneak peek into the upcoming Zootopia themed land which is coming soon to the park!

D23 members can register for the event by following a link on the D23 site. After you register you will be given a confirmation email with a link to the event, viewing instructions and an access code. D23 Gold Members will receive complimentary tickets and D23 General Members will pay $10 plus a $1.50 processing fee.

  1. Meanwhile, California Adventure turns 20 and Disney does not even mention it. They don’t even have enough merchandise to commemorate it (just a t-shirt and thermos). Maybe for the 25th anniversary.

    Yeah, I know they just got a new land but you’d think they do something special for their “most improved” park lol.
