Hello from a hot and sunny EPCOT! It was a humid day, but thankfully the rain held off, giving us plenty of time to check out what might be new at this ever-changing park. We found some things to show you, so let’s get started!
Work is moving along quickly on the Innoventions East building, future home of Club Cool and Creations Shop. These windows, which went in recently, are being further framed out now.
On the other side of the building, painting continues with this section at least primed.
Nearby at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a new section of roof work has begun.
Colorful facades have returned to the bounce toys in the recently-reopened Family Play Zone, although upon closer inspection we found these playful pieces to be damaged with gouge marks all across the surface.
The one way traffic flow in The Seas Pavilion has been removed, allowing guests to use either staircase freely now.
The underwater viewing area is also free of directional rules, and guests are no longer required to “just keep swimming” around the circular area once they enter.
Water is no longer pre-poured in lidded cups for guests at Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavilion. Guests may now get their own cup of water using the self service soda machine inside the restaurant.
A selection of the interactive displays inside ImageWorks have returned, allowing guests exiting Journey Into Imagination With Figment to play for a moment in this engaging display. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Moving on to World Showcase, we found that the benches had returned to The Mill Stage in the Canada Pavilion.
Just outside of the exit of World Showplace, the Mickey and Minnie topiaries have been removed. With the Flower & Garden Festival running longer than ever this year, it no doubt poses a unique challenge for the Horticulture Team to keep these large topiaries going for so long.
While walking through the France Pavilion expansion today, we noticed that the normal music track of the rest of the France Pavilion was not playing there, but the “Ratatouille” music track that we heard being tested several months ago was being played instead. It’s just another step closer to the opening of the rest of the expansion area on October 1, 2021.
We found four new festival food booths around World Showcase today for the upcoming International Food & Wine Festival 2021. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We found a new traffic pattern in place at Karamell-Kuche in the Germany Pavilion. The door which has served as the entrance since the reopening was closed, and the door which has been the exit was open. Once we entered, we saw that the line for the cold case wrapped around that area, keeping the line inside.
While we found all physical distancing and traffic flow control had been removed from inside the Mexico Pavilion a few days ago, today we found that it had returned. Entrance to the Pavilion was being monitored, and a zigzagged line was being used to guide guests into the area.
After checking out all the construction and operational updates at the park, we turned our attention to merchandise. We found this popular Orange Bird bucket hat, which sold out quickly at the beginning of the Flower & Garden Festival, had been restocked at Mouse Gear.
We also found this new Seven Dwarfs beach towel for $26.99 at Mouse Gear.
We had a wonderful time at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
