The structure at the site of Journey of Water, an upcoming walkthrough attraction at EPCOT inspired by Moana, is now surrounded by concrete.

There’s a doorway leading into the structure, which hides a staircase granting access to underground facilities.

Journey of Water will take guests through the beautiful nature of Te Fiti’s island, with several water features for guests to enjoy.

  1. I still see this area as something you walk through to get to where you really want to be. I’ll wait and see if Disney can surpise me with something better than my expectations.

  2. By the looks of the plans it looks like mostly pipes, “rock” work and landscaping. I’d imagine that the plumbing is already in place as you see by the blue pipes coming up next to the concrete structure. There may be more concrete work to make smaller structures before adding fake fascia to look like natural stone. I don’t see where any smaller pipes would lead water to the top of the structure, but that may happen between the concrete and natural stone looking fascia. Landscaping takes no time at all, but we don’t know extent of new walkways or building that will keep the work behind spaceship earth closed.
