We have been keeping a close eye just about every single day on the construction progress around Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, as it is currently undergoing several different projects. Today we spotted a few new updates to share with you.

Progress on the new porte-cochère roof seems to be the same as it was yesterday.

The second half of the roof here is still missing its panelling.

Construction crew is busy working on the monorail walkway entrance.

We noticed the construction walls have been removed around the Rarotonga area just outside of the Great Ceremonial House.

Some scrim still remains, however.

From the main building a caught a glimpse of the construction progress happening in the main lawn area. It appears a few more pieces of equipment have been added to the scene recently.

Hopefully this will be cleaned up soon so that DVC guests currently staying here can have a better view and overall experience.

Looking forward to staying the first week of August. Love all the construction updates. They are the highlight of my week ;-)
Hope this is all complete for our stay in August.
We will be staying there mid August. I really hope it is completed by then!
Just to be on the safe side, switch hotels. This is going to take a while. Things don’t move as fast as they used to at WDW.
I have reservations at the Poly 8/22-9/1. To me, it does not look like the resort will be opening on time. Of course, no one at Disney will give me any answers other than that they still have sometime in July listed, but no hard date a month out? I am very skeptical. I also saw last night on Trip Advisor that it isn’t reopening until 12/29. Disney says they don’t think that’s true. I don’t know whether to bail out now and find another resort I can be happy with, or wait and placed in whatever leftover room they have somewhere, if it doesn’t open?
Staying during Labor Day Weekend the beginning of Sept. Fingers crossed it’s completed and all restaurants are open.
We’ll be there in August. Any idea what buildings have been completed
Arriving at Poly on August 24th. can’t wait to see all the changes. haven’t been in 15 years!
