Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway may not pull into the station until 2023, but construction is chugging along at Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland. Walls went up around Toontown Five & Dime and Gag Factory earlier this year, and today, we saw crews actively demolishing the façades.
The whimsical façades are no more as work continues on the Toontown buildings.

The former Toontown buildings will become “El Capitoon Theater,” featuring Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which will serve as the ride’s entrance.

Not a crane. Clambshell jaws just like they tore apart backstage for Star Wars Land and Light Tragic floats.
