A snack cart in Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone at Universal Studios Florida has been quietly converted to Hollywood or Bust Snacks and Beverage, and it may just be the new hidden gem at the park. Located next to Spongebob Storepants, this unassuming cart styled like a vintage camper packs a menu loaded with delicious treats.
Cake & Ice Cream – $7.49
Vanilla confetti birthday cupcake with strawberry icing, vanilla ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, and raspberry sauce
The presentation is very cute, and it tastes as good as it looks. Cake and ice cream is a classic combination, and while this dish doesn’t offer a new take, it executes it well. The neutral palette of the cake combined with the whipped strawberry frosting, raspberry sauce, ice cream, and fresh fruit really comes together.
It was delicious, and the fresh fruit cut the artificial sweetness of the cake and ice cream perfectly. We highly recommend this.
Bourbon & Bacon Belgian Liege Waffle Sundae – $9.49
Bourbon ice cream, thick-cut bacon, roasted pecans, and caramel sauce
These Belgian Liege Waffles are the same waffles from the Mardi Gras Belgium Tasting Booth. We’re glad to see them return. We expected this to be the clear winner of the day, but it fell short of our expectations. The bacon was delicious, but the bourbon ice cream was too strong. It overpowered the rest of the sundae.
The sundae wasn’t bad, but the other choices are so much better. We recommend skipping this one unless you are a huge bourbon fan.
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Belgian Liege Waffle Sundae – $8.49
Peanut butter ice cream, chocolate ganache, whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and Reese’s Pieces
The Peanut Butter & Chocolate sundae, featuring E.T.’s favorite Reese’s Pieces, was our favorite of the four treats we tried. The peanut butter ice cream is hand-scooped, not soft serve, and tops a perfect warm waffle.
The flavor profile of the chocolate ganache, peanut butter ice cream, and waffle was perfect. The finely chopped peanuts and Reese’s Pieces add a nice crunch, and we believe no sundae is truly complete without whipped cream.
It was so good, we can’t wait to have another. We loved every part of this sundae and highly recommend it.
Raspberry Passion Fruit Belgian Liege Waffle Sundae – $8.49
Vanilla ice cream, passion fruit cream, cinnamon streusel, and raspberry sauce
If you like the raspberry passionfruit seasonal crêpe, you’ll love this sundae. It has the same passionfruit cream, raspberry sauce, and amazing cinnamon streusel. The flavors work just as well with the waffle and ice cream. On a hot day, we’d pick this sundae over the crêpe for a refreshing treat.
This was our second favorite of the four treats. It’s delicious, and the true star is the streusel.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with any of the ice cream treats here. We would rank this cart with our beloved Central Park Crêpes. It’s a home run for Universal, who have been on a winning streak with new food around the parks.
