Attractions in All Four Walt Disney World Parks Currently Unavailable Due to Power Outages

Guests at Walt Disney World today are experiencing intermittent rain from thunderstorms. We noticed the power flicker while we were at EPCOT, and now several attractions at all four theme parks are down, likely due to outages caused by the weather. This is after Disney’s Animal Kingdom experienced multiple power outages earlier this month.

Magic Kingdom

  • Space Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Pirates of the Caribbean

EPCOT

  • Living With the Land
  • Journey Into Imagination With Figment
  • Frozen Ever After
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
  • Mission: SPACE

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Tower of Terror
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Dinosaur
  • It’s Tough to be a Bug!

Outdoor rides are expected to close with adverse weather, but most indoor rides are able to stay open during lightning. Some attractions, including Peter Pan’s Flight and Country Bear Jamboree, were down briefly but are now back open.

  1. I had just gotten curious while on break at work and took a look at the Magic Kingdom attraction times and noticed that all the outdoor rides were closed, I thought it was just thunderstorms. Wow, apparently I just looked after everything came back online then. Wild.

  2. disney has invested god knows how much in acres of solar panels. but remember folks, solar and wind is our future. whether it works or not.

  3. We were at EPCOT a few days ago and it was pouring and massive thunder/lightening. We were on living with the land and thought something nearby was hit by lightening. No issues but have you ever been in the greenhouse during torrential rain???!!!

  4. Whereas at the arcade at beach club, kids of all ages sought solace from the lightning closed stormalong bay during the early afternoon hours. Lights merely flickered, but the “free mode” at basketball became reset to pay as you go. Bummer!

  5. At least Splash Mountain was running. By the way…Save Splash Mountain!! Expand the park and add a Princess and the Frog attraction!! So Splash Mountain will remain the same!!
