PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT & Disney’s Hollywood Studios 7/22/21 (Guardians Entrance Construction, Darkroom Facade Refurb Continues, New Baublebar Ears, and More)

Hello from a sweltering hot Walt Disney World! With a frozen drink from Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea in our hand, we braved the high heat index to see what new things we could find for you at the park, and we’re glad we did. Let’s get started!

Since we mentioned it a few days ago, a few of the missing Points of Light on Spaceship Earth have been installed. Most notably, one in the center line visible from the entrance of the park was missing and is now in place.

With the EPCOT Monorail line running again, we are able to get a look above the construction walls at the progress on many of the projects going on around the park. Today, we took a look at the work outside of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and saw that a long concrete wall has been installed in front of the show building and a concrete base with what appears to be metal attachment points coming out of it.

One of the new Festival food booths debuting on October 1st has been installed behind the cover of rolling planters across from Test Track. The Lobster Landing nameplate is visible just above the planters as you walk by.

We found some pavement work on the bridge on our way to World Showcase with this fresh patch of concrete.

In the Italy Pavilion, new scrim has appeared on the bridge, no doubt blocking painting or repair progress from guests’ view.

We found a fun striped mug featuring Stitch at the MISSION: Space Cargo Bay for $14.99.

We also found a late-comer to Festival merchandise with this “You are the Apple of my Pie” mason jar featuring Mickey and Minnie at Port of Entry for $19.99.

Next, we headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the construction updates surrounding the beautification of the parks ahead of the 50th Anniversary celebrations never cease. The scrim surrounding The Darkroom doors has finally been removed, and we found these doors closed and blocked off today, sporting their fresh new surround.

This themed wall of The Darkroom has gotten a similar scrim treatment as we saw around the door just around the corner.

As we saw in the Magic Kingdom yesterday, the times for the Character Cavalcades are now posted on the digital information boards, as well as on the MyDisneyExperience mobile app.

With entrance to the Market in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge no longer controlled, this auxiliary creature stall has returned, allowing guests a second location to purchase some of the more popular creatures.

Inside the Walt Disney Presents Theater, we found costumes from “Cruella” had replaced the long-present costumes from “Mulan.” For more pictures and information, check out our article here.

We found a new way to accessorize your favorite pair of Crocs with these Disney Parks-themed Jibbitz. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.

We found a new Open Edition “Mickey Mouse In Perfect Picnic” at the exit shop for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This pin retails for $12.99.

Next, we found a fun new mug featuring a classic scene from “The Little Mermaid” at Celebrity 5&10 for $14.99.

We also found a striking new pair of ears featuring a large statement bow by BaubleBar. For more pictures and information on these ears, check out our article here.

We had a wonderful time at Walt Disney World, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
