We’re less than 100 days from Halloween and even closer to the start of Halloween Horror Nights 30 at Universal Studios Florida. Preparation for the event is in full swing, and we stopped by to take a look at the latest as scare zones continue to take shape.
Like we saw earlier this week in New York, lighting has been installed on the rooftops in Hollywood.
Several different rigs are in place. While no scare zones have been officially announced, this area is often used for one.
A larger rig sits atop Mel’s Drive-In.
Strolling past Central Park, we noticed that the trusses now have lights affixed.
The trusses line the full walkway between Hollywood and Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone.
Next, we spotted some new decor on the structures in New York.
Three of the metal structures have received numbered banners.
The banners are weathered and worn.
Another structure outside Revenge of the Mummy has similar banners, but without a number.
The numerous structures are set dressings, likely to hold props or scareactors.
The stage in New York has also received decorative banners.
While we were there, Team Members arrived to place signs on the stage.
One sign requests that guests “please do not climb” the stage.
The other reads, “Pardon our dust. We are in the process of transforming our park for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights.” If you needed confirmation that these structures are for the event, this is your sign (literally).
In Production Central, the trees that line the sidewalks have been removed. This is usually done to make way for props and other structures for Halloween Horror Nights.
Additional lighting has also been added to the awnings here.
Several sets of lighting have been installed on Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.
There is also new lighting atop the awning of Shrek 4-D.
