The final “gear” in the pavement of New Tomorrowland’s 1994 makeover has been scored for removal. This pavement has been progressively replaced over the past several weeks, with the bridge all that’s left of the refurbishment.
This large gear pattern is directly under the Tomorrowland entrance sign, which was installed in 2019.
“Scoring” is the process of cutting pavement. There are several cuts across sections of the gear.
There was also scoring around the sign’s supports, where there are built-in benches.
Some of the gear will likely be gone by tomorrow, and the entire thing will probably be replaced by the end of the week.
