REVIEW: New Beef Stir-Fry, Hot Chicken Tip Yip, Tuna Poke, Outpost Puff Dessert, and More from Docking Bay 7 in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has an updated menu, including a new dessert. We visited Batuu to try out all of the new items.

The Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs and plant-based Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread are the only entrées remaining from the old menu. Read our reviews for those dishes.

Batuuan Beef and Crispy Topato Stir-fry – $19.99

Smoky Braised Beef glazed in Tamarind Sauce and served with Stir-fried Vegetables, Crispy Herbed Yucca, Pickled Onions, and Cilantro

The beef itself, while cooked nicely, was incredibly over-spiced. There was so much seasoning, it was hard to tell what was going on or even what it tasted like.

It burnt, not because it was hot but because there was that much spice.

The herbed yucca was the star of this dish. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with savory parsley and thyme seasoning with salt.

The roasted veggies were great too, although were pretty heavily coated in oil.

We would have really liked this dish if the flavoring on the meat had been taken down a notch. We might get it again just for the yuca.

Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad – $13.99

Marinated Chicken, Mixed Greens, Shaved Onion and Radish, Grapes, Tomato, and Cucumber in a Lemon-Pomegranate Vinaigrette with Spiced Yogurt Drizzle

This was a good, but basic salad. It didn’t have many flavors going on.

roasted-endorian-chicken-salad-2

The whole thing was soaked with vinaigrette, which wasn’t bad.

The chicken was good. It had a bit of spice when eating it, but nothing that lasted. The grapes in the salad added a nice burst of sweetness.

The yogurt base was the dominant flavor, with lemon and a bit of spice coming through after.

This was nothing extraordinary, but we would get it again.

Pirjanad Hot Chicken Tip Yip – $15.49

Crispy Chicken glazed in a Spicy Chipotle Sauce and served with White Rice and a Relish of Sweet Corn, Shishito Peppers, Jicama, Plantains, and Cilantro

They aren’t kidding, this dish is hot!

pirjanad-hot-chicken-tip-yip-3
pirjanad-hot-chicken-tip-yip-5

The relish tastes like apple, corn, and jicama all roasted together and is sweet until you get a pepper, then it’s spicy! There aren’t any other real spices that we can tell.

pirjanad-hot-chicken-tip-yip-4

The chicken is good, but also hot. It’s an Indian food curry-type of hot and it lingers. It starts out sweet, almost like a Chinese chicken dish, but very quickly becomes spicy.

This is a good dish, but may be too hot for some.

Peka Tuna Poke – $17.99

Raw Tuna tossed in a Spicy Sriracha Dressing and served with Green Papaya Salad, Pickled Mushrooms, Fresh Herbs, and Crispy Garlic

peka-tuna-poke-21
tuna-poke-4055638

The tuna was very soft and melted in your mouth, which was nice.

peka-tuna-poke-24

The sauce had a classic Sriracha kick to it, which wasn’t bad.

tuna-poke-1-7085561

All the veggies were covered in a vinegar-based sauce that we didn’t care for.

peka-tuna-poke-27

We were excited for this dish, but the vinegar base really turned us off. The tuna itself was the best part.

Outpost Puff – $6.99

Chocolate Pastry filled with Guajillo Chocolate Mousse and Green Milk Sauce finished with Thai Tea Panna Cotta, Spiced Pineapple and Confectionary Debris

The texture of this pastry is cool. It’s like a croissant, so it has air pockets, but it isn’t dry and it still binds together. It makes for an interesting-looking dough.

outpost-puff-13

The pastry itself is basically a cup holding the mousse, sauce, and panna cotta.

outpost-puff-16

All of the flavors work so well together for a dessert that doesn’t taste like anything else. The green milk sauce tastes exactly like green milk.

outpost-puff-17
outpost-puff-18

The Thai tea panna cotta is the light orange mousse and it’s delicious. It tastes just like Thai tea and bridges the gap between the chocolate and green milk.

outpost-puff-1-5683844

The addition of the spiced pineapple really adds a sharp fruit note that helps all the flavors come together.

This was our favorite dish and we would definitely get it again.
