Disney and Actors’ Equity Union Make Agreement, Entertainment Cast Members Must Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

After yesterday’s announcement that most unionized Cast Members would now need to be vaccinated, Disney has announced the Actors’ Equity Union has also reached an agreement, according to Central Florida’s News13.

Entertainment Cast Members unionized with the Actors’ Equity group will need to be fully vaccinated by October 22. This comes after The Walt Disney Company made the vaccine mandatory for all salaried and non-union Cast Members.

As with the other groups of Cast Members to fall under the vaccine requirement, waivers for religious and medical reasons are available. Cast Members who are not vaccinated and do not receive a waiver will be separated from the company.

Entertainment has been returning slowly to the Walt Disney World theme parks, in part due to the necessary health and safety procedures.
