PHOTOS: Frontierland Boardwalk Replacement Gallops Along at Magic Kingdom

Over in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom, the boardwalk is being torn up and replaced to look its best for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1. We’ve been keeping an eye on this project for several weeks, and it appears some good progress has been made since last we stopped by. Let’s take a look at where the project is now.

At the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe, the concrete has been laid and smoothed out, ready for new boards to be installed once it’s dry.

At the base of the door, the age of this 50-year-old (yet timeless) park can be keenly seen where the previous boards were removed.

At the side exit of the Country Bear Jamboree, work has begun on the concrete beyond the boardwalk.

Rebar is in place, and a frame is built for an imminent installation of fresh concrete.

Over at Frontierland Mercantile, construction walls have been pushed back to allow entry to the shop. The new ramp is open for guest access.

Construction walls have been moved down to cover the Frontier Trading Post. Construction supplies are covered in tarps behind the wall, and the empty planter where a large tree used to stand is covered as well.

The door to the shop stands open, but this area is off-limits to guests currently.
