  1. I think they just make it easier not to buy stuff. From absurd pricing to a lack of theming in the stores after renovations, it’s like they’re just trying to get people to pass up going inside stores.

Then, they shut them down because “people aren’t interested in going into physical stores anymore”, and it all could just be on ShopDisney.com, right? Modern management for you.

  2. We have a FL trip coming up at the end of Oct that we are obligated to attend. We already made the decision that we will not be purchasing anything from Disney on our days there (aside from food, of course). We’ve actually decided to not purchase anything licensed by Disney anywhere – not including second hand – until something shifts in the company. The audacity to raise the prices on these items when they have already been far over priced is astonishing to me. We are over this greedy behavior. This goes far beyond “inflation”. This is straight up greed.

  3. I guess if they found people to buy a $30 plastic Mug why not – Personally I find these prices to be absolutely insane for the Junk that it is…

    • Have you ever even seen a scream mug? They’re dope, people pay 30-40 on Starbucks garb, but calling a tumbler my toddler abuses and drops on a daily basis that still looks brand new junk just shows how uneducated on quality you are. Also it screams when you open it. Bet you didn’t know that either.

      • Agreed Katlyn. People out there buy Yetis and the like because of brand names but also because they work. I’ve never had a Disney souvenir break down on me when you can tell its sturdy. A $20 thermos from anywhere else will last a year if you’re lucky.
But good on those who aren’t buying more, a majority of it is a waste and unnecessary plastic that they need to stop using. China isn’t accepting plastic for recycling, why should we accept their exporting of new plastic?

  4. Maybe it is just special headbands? Still showing most $29.99 online or perhaps the increase has not reached shop disney yet?

  5. Regarding the loungefly bags, they are very oddly priced anyway?
Depending on the bags they can range from $69 to over $100. Just cause.

So is this article saying the miss piggy bag was a specific price the was recently hiked?
Or that the miss piggy bag was just expensive in general?

  6. Disney is getting ridiculous with the pricing on everything! I know costs go up, but costs do not go up at the rate Disney’s price hikes increase. They could leave the prices lower and sell more. More and more people are going to be unwilling to buy as much if this continues. But considering the folks running things now, they will keep doing this to justify their millions in bonuses every year.

  7. Don’t you people know that prices are going up everywhere? Have you seen the price of gas and wood. People it’s called inflation, our economy is experiencing shortages everywhere. Quit bitching about prices, until you know what’s going on around you. Damn, you people make me laugh.

    • Actually the gas prices where I live are pretty stable. They’ve been around $2.50 for the past year and a half.

    • More supply than inflation. Inflation would explain a 2-3% increase. Material shortages to make the goods and shipping costs increasing (most due to Covid related causes) are the explanation here just as it is if you compare wood or other building materials from even January 2021 to September 2021.

  8. We were there two years ago this week! We spent less than $100 on “stuff”! A tee shirt for my son and a few little things for the young woman who stayed with our dogs! Everything was so over priced in the parks! Considering our stay cost $6000 + for three adults! We stayed at Ft Wilderness Cabins (a deal +
Free counter dining and we drove, from NH, because it’s much cheaper than flying and renting a car). Sadly, I think it’s our last trip to WDW. Next trip will be to Universal/Sea World…especially since you can get length of stay tickets for SeaWorld/Busch Gardens with a Day at Discovery Cove with Dolphin encounter for under $300! Evidently Disney has decided that it wants to be the theme Park destination for the well to do! Didn’t I just read that one of the homes (mansions) at the new housing community is selling for $16 million +???? Seems to me that the new bosses have decided that they no longer want to be WALT DISNEY Company but the Di$ney Company! Sad…..
