Big Top Souvenirs may have finally reopened, but refurbishment continues elsewhere in Storybook Circus at Magic Kingdom.
Without character meet-and-greets, Pete’s Silly Sideshow remains closed. But crew members are working on repainting the tent’s roof.
The sign may also need to be repainted or replaced after fading in the sun.
This refurbishment is part of the ongoing effort to fix up Magic Kingdom before its 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021.
Some of the tent’s stripes are shades of red, while some are white with primer.
Some sections definitely need more coats of paint.
Banners have also been replaced with more vibrant versions.
The characters stand out more against their colorful backgrounds.
The center banner advertises the Storybook Circus.
For comparison, here is another banner that has yet to be replaced. It has significantly faded.
Pluto is also looking worse for wear, so we expect he’ll get a new banner soon.
As will “Strongman” Pete.
