Imagineer Kim Irvine to Cameo on ‘Muppets Haunted Mansion’
The debut of “Muppets Haunted Mansion” on Disney+ is just a few weeks away, and the official Instagram account of Walt Disney Imagineering has just teased another celebrity cameo we can expect to see.
Imagineer Kim Irvine is the art director for Disneyland and has worked on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Disneyland Dream Suite, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the reimagining of “it’s a small world” to name just a few line items from her curriculum vitae.
But around Halloween, she is known as the face of Madame Leota for Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland, taking over the role from her mother, Leota Toombs, who was the namesake and original Madame Leota performer back in the 1960s, and one of the first female Imagineers in her own right.
Having Kim Irvine in the “Muppets Haunted Mansion” is a special tribute to all that she and her mother have brought to the ride over the more than 50 years it has been welcoming foolish mortals through its gates.
Also in the photo sent out by Imagineering, check out the Muppets version of the classic Haunted Mansion wallpaper in the background. Rather than ghoulish faces and prying eyes, notice the characters Pepe the King Prawn, Uncle Deadly, Gonzo the Great, and more. A nice touch added to the already exciting announcement.
“Muppets Haunted Mansion” is set to debut October 8 on Disney+.
