PHOTOS: Mickey and Minnie Fab 50 Statues Dedicated to Cast Members, Plaque Added at Magic Kingdom

Mickey and Minnie’s Fab 50 statues arrived at the Magic Kingdom last week, but today, a new plaque was added dedicating the statues to Cast Members.

The dedication plaque, set with today’s date, is in honor of the Cast Members who make the dream a reality. This comes after a rough year during the COVID-19 shutdown where many Cast Members were laid off at the height of the pandemic. During the 50th anniversary celebration, it is nice to see some thanks and recognition going to those people who have held this park, and all the Disney Parks worldwide, together for the last 50 years.

The plaque reads, “Walt Disney World Cast Members have always been the heart of our magic. These statues of Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse are dedicated to celebrate Cast Members past, present, and future. Thank you for making Walt Disney’s dream a reality.”

  1. Meh. I think these statues would’ve been better suited for the company’s 100th anniversary. This celebration should’ve celebrated the parks and people that make up WDW.

  2. We dedicate these 50th golden statues to the 50,000 cast members who were fired like trash in 2020, without your sacrifice we couldn’t have retained the top executives like Chapek and D’amaro
