As part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”, guests of participating hotels are able to enter all four Walt Disney World theme parks 30 minutes early every day. We were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the first day of early entry this morning to see what boarding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance would be like.

Cast Members at the park entrance directed hotel guests inside the park. To verify you have a hotel reservation, your MagicBand or card will be scanned before you reach the entrance.

We arrived at about 8:20 AM. Non-hotel guests were held at the turnstiles to the right.

We entered the park right away with no wait.

Cast Members directed guests to the right for most attractions, and to the left for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Of course, most guests headed to the left.

We reached the standby entrance at 8:59 AM, where a 60-minute wait was posted. While in line, we continued to check the My Disney Experience app, which eventually listed Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as having a 165 minute wait. Other attractions varied from 5 to 50 minutes.

We reached the first pre-show room at 9:30 AM, just over an hour after entering Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

We were off Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at 9:48 AM.

In total, we spent about an hour waiting once rope drop actually happened, which isn’t bad, but Rise of the Resistance has been posting a 50 minute wait in the evening with reports that guests have waited less than that. It may be better to wait it out than to fight this mob in the morning.

  1. The thing which pees off Disney Family Members the most. End of Line which should be used for TRON. My cousin-in-law Ron Miller was the Producer of TRON. Line Ends Here is much better and holds up Disney Image. End of Line is not Disney Image if it is not used for TRON!

That’s good info. Thanks for the tip!
