All four Walt Disney World theme park icons are transforming to celebrate the 50th anniversary this October 1, but Spaceship Earth debuted its new look as a Beacon of Magic early this evening.
The points of light installed around the geodesic dome bring the Beacon of Magic to life.
After Harmonious, Spaceship Earth lit up in its classic nighttime colors with the additions of the points of light.
Every 15 minutes, Spaceship Earth underwent transformations as a Beacon of Magic.
Unlike the other three parks, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT will retain its new lighting after the 18-month celebration ends.

It looks very cool. I’m sure it looks stunning in person!
It was pretty cool to be there tonight and hear everyone gasp and cheer at that part. I was just starting the trek towards IG for the boat when the ball changed colors. And Harmonious was excellent, best I’ve seen there since 2010.
That looks Great
Nicely done, young lady. Love WDW my ownself.
I like it very much!
Hmmm, I’m torn between the old and new look. It seems it won’t be the same taking photos, now that it’s just a ball of LED looking lights. I think it slightly takes away from it’s ICONIC look. I suppose I’ll have to see it in person.
