Jolly Holiday Bakery Café at Disneyland Park is chock full of special treats this Halloween. We’ve seen some of these items before, but there’s plenty of new snacks too.
Toasted Salsa Roja Chicken Sandwich – $10.49
Salsa roja shredded chicken on rustic bread with jack and cotija cheeses served with tortilla soup
This is by far the best sandwich we’ve ever eaten at Jolly Holiday. It’s huge and stuffed with tons of chicken, making this dish feel like a steal. The sandwich is amazing when dipped in the soup, but it’s also great by itself. The chicken isn’t dry at all, probably thanks in part to the salsa roja.
The soup is hot and spicy! You could probably eat one third of it before the spiciness becomes too much, but it’s so good.
Pumpkin Muffin – $4.49
The pumpkin muffin is a solid choice and one of their better muffins. It’s baked perfectly! The top is firm and crisp, while the bottom is super soft and moist. The cream cheese topping is great too because it makes this feel like a cupcake more than a muffin. The pumpkin flavor isn’t super overpowering, so any level of pumpkin lover can easily consume this. It feels more like a dessert than a breakfast item, though, so keep that in mind if this is your first meal of the day.
Cruella de Vil Brownie – $5.49
Chocolate brownie with black and white chocolate mousse
The brownie features a white chocolate medallion of the fabulous villain herself, Cruella de Vil, surrounded by drops of black and white chocolate mousse
Unfortunately, we didn’t love this brownie. The brownie part of the dish was rock hard and had no flavor. The mousse was way to sweet and artificial in flavor, possibly due to the amount of black food dye which can alter the taste of foods in certain amounts.
Cookie & Cream Macaron – $5.99
Mummy mickey macaron shell with a cookies and cream filling
If you already like macarons and you’re a fan of cookies-and-cream flavoring, this macaron is to die for.
The buttercream filling is exquisite, though it’s difficult to tell whether one ought to be impressed more by the taste or craftsmanship. Both are noteworthy. We love macarons and we love cookies and cream, especially in frosting fashion.
Mickey Bat Cookie – $4.49
Shortbread bat cookie dipped in dark chocolate with a Vampire Mickey face
The cookie was your standard shortbread cookie with chocolate frosting, nothing special, but the Mickey face makes it a cute seasonal offering!
Pumpkin Cheesecake – $5.99
Classic pumpkin cheesecake decorated with a chocolate spider web and a Halloween decoration
The small cheesecake is the perfect size for one with a white chocolate Mickey pumpkin medallion on top.
This cheesecake had a good pumpkin flavor with the right consistency for cheesecake. The nutmeg paired well with the pumpkin and is an option we would get again.
