In addition to a Haunted Mansion petit cake, Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs is celebrating the season with two new pumpkin treats: a pumpkin pecan cheesecake roll and pumpkin crème brûlée.
Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake Roll – $9
Pecan chiffon cake, pumpkin cheesecake filling, and dulce nutmeg chocolate mousse
The dulce nutmeg mousse is interesting. You can definitely taste the nutmeg flavor.
The mousse covers the pecan chiffon cake, which is nice and soft. It’s just the right consistency inside.
The cream cheese stands out against the pumpkin. All in one bite, this is a great autumnal roll with the sweetness of the cream cheese balancing the generous nutmeg.
The leaf is a candy fondant flecked with gold that we didn’t really care for.
It’s a decent dessert if you like nutmeg but definitely could’ve benefited from a little crunch.
Pumpkin Crème Brûlée – $7
Pumpkin custard with brûléed sugar, candied pecans, spiced whipped cream, and raspberry cranberry tuile
The pumpkin crème brûlée is awesome. It has just the right amount of pumpkin and sweetness that crème brûlée should have.
The top has an awesome crunch and the perfect “brûlée” to custard ratio. The raspberries add a little freshness to an otherwise sugary dessert.
The raspberry circle did deflate quickly. It’s slightly soft, and we aren’t sure if it’s supposed to be that way or if it was from moisture. It has a nice fruity taste, almost like a raspberry purée.
The raspberry and pumpkin compliment each other well and add tartness to a spiced dessert.
We didn’t expect it to be so great, but now we can’t wait to come back for more.
