REVIEW: Tokyo DisneySea’s 20th Anniversary Sparkling Lemon & Ginger Drink is Mediocre at Best

As Tokyo DisneySea celebrates 20 years of being the world’s greatest theme park this month, the park has kicked off a year-long celebration to commemorate this momentous occasion! One of the treats available to Guests wishing to celebrate is the new Sparkling Lemon & Ginger Drink at Sebastian’s Calypso Kitchen, which we swam on down to Mermaid Lagoon to try ourselves.

Sparkling Lemon & Ginger Drink – Â¥600 ($5.46)

The drink itself is given out in this rather lovely plastic cup with Mickey and Minnie holding starbursts while flanking the 20th Anniversary logo. Below are silhouettes of each major weenie around Tokyo DisneySea, and the two are surrounded by silhouettes of the other Disney Friends.

The drink itself is a Kirin Lemon blend with blue syrup, a lemon slice, lemon jelly bits, and ginger at the very bottom. The ginger doesn’t mix easily, being almost gone in two sips even after trying to swirl it in a bit more evenly. What remains is essentially a double-cost blue Kirin Lemon that may not be worth your hard-earned yen. For those unaware, Kirin Lemon is essentially analogous to Sprite in Japan, so it’s really nothing all that special once the ginger is gone except for the little lemon jelly bits.

All in all, you may not want to go out of your way to try this one. It’s not awful, but certainly not worth any hype. You can find this Sparkling Lemon & Ginger Drink at Sebastian’s Calypso Kitchen in Mermaid Lagoon! Are you interested in giving this one a try? Let us know in the comments below!
