REVIEW: New 20th Anniversary “Chocolate Fondant Churro” is Among Tokyo Disney Resort’s Finest Snacks

Tokyo DisneySea kicked off their 20th Anniversary “Time to Shine!” celebration on September 4th, and we were lucky enough to be at the park to sample all of the latest offerings to celebrate! One of our favorites by far was this delicious “Fondant Chocolat Churro”, a spin on the classic Chocolate Churro served during the holiday season at Tokyo Disney Resort, specially created for the anniversary celebration this year!

Chocolate Fondant Churro – Â¥500 ($4.55)

Available only at Open Sesame in Arabian Coast, the Chocolate Fondant Churro is slightly more expensive than a normal Mickey Churro, but well worth the extra cost.

The Fondant Chocolat Churro follows the mold of the Potato Churros rather than being Mickey-shaped. It’s a brown color covered in blue sprinkles.

The inside is filled with gooey, hot chocolate fondant.

And since this is Tokyo Disney Resort, of course it came in a special wrapper themed to the 20th Anniversary, which is only used at this location.

And how does it taste? In a word, amazing! The Fondant Chocolat inside is gooey and rich, which means it doesn’t spill or leak out of the churro when biting inside. The overall flavor is closest to dark chocolate but isn’t overly bitter. And while being soft and easy to eat, it also doesn’t just immediately break apart when carrying it around.

Conversely, service at Open Sesame was equally fantastic, with churros hot, fresh, and ready as soon as payment was completed. I can’t help but applaud the Cast Members on staff and TDR in general for keeping up with the high demand on opening day.

If you’re at Tokyo DisneySea anytime within the next year, you absolutely must stop over at Open Sesame and pick up one of the Fondant Chocolat Churros, you won’t regret it! Are you excited to give this a try? Let us know in the comments below!
