UPDATE: Employees of Third Party Food & Beverage Provider Sodexo Will No Longer Receive Cast Member Benefits at Walt Disney World

After the news that Walt Disney World will no longer offer perks such as tickets and discounts to third party Cast Members, the first company has announced the change. Food and beverage provider Sodexo informed their Cast Members that Walt Disney World will no longer be offering the benefits to them.

The terminated perks include Disney merchandise discounts, food and beverage discounts, theme park admissions passes and tickets, and Disney family holiday tickets.

It’s unclear how many other third party operating participants will be affected. Third party companies provide services across Walt Disney World Resort, including many venues at Disney Springs and EPCOT.

  1. So much for that 5th Key of Inclusion. This is unfortunate and creates a further hierarchy among cast members; it decreases incentives to contribute as a full team player when the parent company doesn’t treat you the same.

    • Disney doesn’t give a F about ‘inclusion,’ other than the optics it gives off in the leftist media. Disney doesn’t care about POC, UNLESS they can provide the company with some kind of social benefit in the media. This company makes BILLIONS each year, yet they can’t provide Castmembers who work on site with some simple perks. This, and allowing tattoos, green hair, and bearded ‘women’ to work there is how they are becoming a CARNIVAL!

      • Very true. Chapek and D’Amaro are moving forward with a strategy that caters to the wealthy. So much for inclusivity when the amount of “magic” you receive on your vacation depends on your social class.

  2. Bob Chapek is such a POS. Bob and his minions appear to be doing everything they can to erase any feelings of good will or connectedness. When cast members feel devalued (the cast members who are required to comply with disney rules and at least what used to be the Disney way of doing things, third party or not) then they aren’t passing those feelings of good will and happiness that helps to create that “Disney Feeling” we all crave. When services were subcontracted we started to feel the difference. From mousekeeping to guest services it was clear this was just a job. That was IT. The world is falling down around us. A total and complete bridge TROLL is in charge and the stinking piles he is leaving everywhere is creating a stench that won’t be easily erased.

  3. Way to control, Disney. Can’t force the jab if they’re not your employee so you just force out the third party guys. Just when I think Disney can’t stoop much lower these days.

    • You actually can make contracting employees confirm to your standards. This has absolutely nothing to do with the vaccine

  4. Does Disney leadership have meetings where they ask, “what can we do next to make it even more clear this company is a raging dumpster fire?”

  5. Well, to be fair, Sodexo never gave us CM’s any discount on their lousy, overpriced food in the cast break rooms,

  6. With each bulletin I read about WDW, I become more likely never to return — though I spent years as a
Florida passholder, and have visited three dozen+ days since then.
With this benefit cut to Sodexho cast members, I see another twist by Disney’s highly paid management to squeeze even more out of people who earn far less, but whose hard work is the foundation of the Disney Tower of Cash. I know the pandemic hurt financially; I know some belt tightening may be necessary. But cutting all their perks? Could WDW not leave them SOMETHING? Have the managers also taken cuts?
It won’t be the happiest place on earth in my mind . Or probably the workers’ either.

  7. Sad and disgusting move on Disney’s part. Service has already suffered due to so many services being subcontracted out. Now the third party vendors have no reason to follow Disney standards. I have to agree with those who say Chapek is the beginning of the end of Disney as we know it. The magic is disappearing.

  8. ah yes I forgot that people hired from third parties are not part of the fifth key so they don’t get to be treated like people and instead like a robot who gets sidelined to line cheapeks pockets
honestly disney pretty much a tyrannical company now

  9. Bro. I don’t why this site keeps spreading rumors. Name your source. I work at a third party location and they contacted Disney, and Disney said it was not true. I won’t believe this until I get an email from the higher ups, when they hear from Disney.
