  1. This is beyond insulting. There are still THOUSANDS of cast member who were furloughed then terminated who would LOVE to be rehired at the parks. Yet, the penny pinchers at WDW would rather seek out cheaper workers to make their share holders and Chapek rich.

    Disgusting.

    • i agree with you to a degree but i deal with the unemployment and to be honest most of those whom where furloughed and or layed off during covid refuse to go back to work thats why so many employers are desperate to hire. I would expect the same thing is happening at disney world.

  2. and as we see, it is rahter easy to shut down over covid. to gear back up is the problem. especially when those not employed could make more in government largess than going back to work. i wonder if those people that have lazed around on unemployment understand they will have to pay taxes on the monies they received? that’s right folks, unlike welfare. afdc, section 8, etc., you have to claim unemployment as income on your 1040. hope you saved enough to pay your tax bill.

  3. So the folks losing their benefits as third party employees could all quit their third party gigs and apply for these jobs with Disney benefits and perks instead?
