According to a Walt Disney World representative, refunds will be issued automatically to guests who purchased Individual Lightning Lane selections that were affected by ride closures.

In the original Disney Genie+ terms and conditions, it says a purchase of Lightning Lane is non-refundable.

But now, it seems that if a ride or attraction closes due to technical issues, guests can be eligible for a refund on their Lightning Lane purchase.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, one of the most popular new attractions at Walt Disney World, was closed due to technical issues on the day that Disney Genie+ launched.

  1. if it is the typial disney it department issuing the refunds, expect at least a sixth month delay till refund. a comment based upon dealing with issues of trying to squeeze a refund from disney in the past.

  2. Great about refunds as any replacement experience would not be equal to what was purchased. But do you still get a replacement “experience pass” (what used to be a Multiple Experiences FastPass+ under the old system) for Individual Lightning Lane? Has anyone encountered attraction downtime while holding a Genie+ Lightning Lane, if so are replacement “any” passes issued (line FP+ did)? I won’t get to try it out for another few weeks.
