UPDATE: Individual Lightning Lane will be rebranded Lightning Lane Single Pass and allow advance selections beginning on July 24, 2024.
Disney Genie and the new Lightning Lane program are coming to Walt Disney World on October 19, and we’ve got a full guide to the new Individual Lightning Lane program.
What is Individual Lightning Lane?
Individual Lightning Lane offers the chance to purchase access to a single attraction — for up to two different attractions per day.
The Cost
The cost of Lightning Lane for individual attractions varies based on the attraction, park, and date. The average cost will be $7-$15 per attraction per person.
Individual Lightning Lane Attractions
Two attractions from each Walt Disney World theme park offer Individual Lightning Lane access.
How to Purchase Individual Lightning Lane Access
Individual Lightning Lane access can be purchased through Disney Genie, part of the My Disney Experience mobile app. You do not need to purchase Genie+ to purchase Individual Lightning Lane; they are separate programs.
Guests staying at eligible Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will be able to purchase Individual Lightning Lane selections beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their visit. All other guests will be able to purchase Individual Lightning Lane selections at the scheduled park opening time.
In Disney Genie, you can select the option to purchase a time to arrive at an attraction and be granted access to the Lightning Lane.
Once you select the attraction, Genie will guide you to select a time and your party. Only guests with valid tickets and Park Pass reservations can be added to your party.
Individual Lightning Lane options will show up on your Disney Genie Tip Board, allowing you to see which attractions are available.

Interesting that Virtual Queue is an option for Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train and the existing Standby Line can become closed. So many questions, but I’ll start with this one: Might all Individual Purchase Lighting Lane attractions’ Standby Line eventually flip to Virtual Queue when Disney Genie+ turns on? Something to watch…
This is so helpful! But uhhhh what is that virtual queue information doing under SDMT?
How do Genie, Genie+ and ILL (individual lightning lane) work with cast member gate passes?
Also wondering this…
