Guests Will Not Be Allowed to Change or Cancel Individual Lightning Lane Selections at Walt Disney World

Amidst all the news regarding the debut of Disney Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane, more information about the new systems has been revealed. Once guests have selected an Individual Lightning Lane attraction and made their payment (each attraction will cost approximately $7-$15 per person), no changes or cancelations can be made.

Individual Lightning Lane selections can be made as early as 7:00 a.m. (for hotel guests) or at park open on the day guests are visiting the park. Once those reservations are made, the times cannot be changed and the selection cannot be canceled or swapped for a different ride.

This policy does not apply to Lightning Lane selections made with Genie+, which will be able to be canceled or modified at no additional fee.

The new programs launch on October 19.

  1. Thank you for the updates. Any fine print? What if I have a Brown Derby lunch reservation (made 60 days in advance) at noon and that is when my $15 ROTR Lightning Lane gets assigned? Thanks

  2. That’s ridiculous!! So you’re paying a ton of money for a tiny specific time slot in which all of your party – including the little kids – need to be in tip top shape to enjoy, because if not there’s no way to modify and you’ve just spent a small fortune to ride Frozen Ever After. I just can’t wait to see all of the stressed out parents screaming at their kids to have a good time because this one ride cost them 90 dollars.

  3. Disney used to be the king of customer service but now Bob Paycheck is winding back even basic standards of customer care. No refunds for something they have clear computer records that you have not used or is not available yet is a disgrace.

  4. really? of course you can cancel just by not going. of course, there will be no refund. to say you cannot cancel is rather dem mandate of the new disney.

  5. Hoping it’s a disaster! There’s to be no sell out limit meaning standby lines will be worse than Fastpass+ was, the lines have been moving smoothly and quickly without the Fastpass lanes open, yet the almighty dollar trumps common sense yet again! If this fails it’s one more nail in the catapult being built to fire Bob Chapek!

  6. So, what happens when you have paid for the indiv. Lane ride, and it breaks down? I assume a refund will be offered then? I have not seen this question answered anywhere yet.
