New to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland this year are special Life Day foods and beverages for the holiday season. We tried the offerings at Oga’s Cantina earlier, and now we journeyed over to Kat Saka’s Kettle for the Potato Hand Pie and Black Sesame Macaron.

Potato Hand Pie – $6.79

Tikka Masala-spiced with mint-cilantro yogurt sauce

This was phenomenal. It tasted like an authentic Indian dish, heavy on the cumin in a good way. Very savory with a nice kick. The crust is buttery and flaky, the inside warm and well seasoned, with a generous helping of filling. Overall, it’s a little small for the price, but it’s so good. The tzatziki is very creamy, with an intense cool flavor that contrasts the pie. This is a must-have.

Black Sesame Macaron – $5.49

Toasted macaron, passion fruit buttercream, sesame praline

The black sesame billing is misleading as the passion fruit buttercream is the predominant flavor. Black sesame is present in a tiny layer in the center, but the passion fruit overpowers it. It’s still very good, just not what we expected based on the description.
