BREAKING: Power Outage in Magic Kingdom Resort Area Shuts Down Ferry Boat and Monorail Service

UPDATE 7:36 p.m.: Reports indicate that the ferries and Monorail have both resumed service.

A power outage in the Magic Kingdom resort area has reportedly caused the shut down of the ferry boats and the Monorail around 6:00 p.m., according to Cast Members. Guests are currently only able to take the bus system to other locations or walk from the park to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Additionally, the power outages have affected Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

This is a developing story, so stay tuned for more information.

  1. Don’t know how recent this post is regarding but I was able to take the ferry about 10 mins ago. Monorail was down though.

  2. We were on a bus at Poly to Hollywood Studios. As we pulled away the monitor that tells you when the next bus will arrive went out. We went to Grand Flo to pick up people for HS but couldn’t leave their parking lot because the gate wouldn’t go up. There was a line of busses trying to leave. We sat for 10-15 minutes while they figured out how to get the gate up manually.

  3. What the heck???

I would love to see an analysis of WDW infrastructure failures over time.

I could be wrong, but it sure seems like every day brings another break in service at a far higher rate than before.
