Marvel has tapped directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead for season two of “Loki” on Disney+, Deadline reports.
The first season premiered with success last summer, with all six episodes directed by Kate Herron. It was immediately renewed for a second season, but Herron chose to step down.
Benson and Moorhead have previously worked on “The Twilight Zone” and “Archive 81.” They directed two episodes of the upcoming “Moon Knight” series and reportedly so impressed Marvel that they were brought on to “Loki.”
Tom Hiddleston will return in the titular role for season two and will executive produce along with Michael Waldron, who wrote and served as showrunner for season one. Eric Martin will write the six episodes.
“Loki” is the only Marvel Disney+ original series to get a second season so far, with the rest running as limited series. Characters from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” are expected to return in a fourth “Captain America” film.
