Masks Now Optional for Fully Vaccinated Walt Disney World Cast Members

Starting today, masks are optional for fully vaccinated guests in most indoor locations at Walt Disney World. Though not previously announced, this policy update also extends to fully vaccinated Cast Members.

We spoke to Cast Members at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, who all told us the same rules apply to them as to guests. They may go maskless at indoor locations, with the exception of transportation (such as the Monorail) and First Aid locations.

Fully vaccinated Cast Members have been allowed to go maskless in backstage areas (not around guests) since November.

  1. So the virus cannot travel backstage. Further proof that it is for show and fear of liability suits. Glad this “show” seems to be coming to an end. Let’s keep it closed!

  2. In reference to Bob Chapak bragging that revenue has increased by 40% per visitor.

He just told me that my costs as a consumer will go up 40% when everyone is complaining about 7% inflation. I just canceled plans for 8 adults and 5 children going to Disney this year.

  3. One step closer to normalcy (again). Let’s hope this change is more permanent than the last.

Riding Soarin’ with a mask is pure punishment.
