New ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Trailer Debuts During Super Bowl LVI

As the Cincinnati Bengals face down against the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI, we’ve been treated as every year with a smattering of spectacular new commercials. And lucky for us, Disney has chosen this evening to debut a new trailer for the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, which you can watch below on YouTube!

The new trailer begins with Strange dreaming of the Multiverse before awakening. He says “I did everything I had to do to protect our world” before Wong reminds him that he’s unable to control everything. So, Strange consults Wanda, who says she believes the Multiverse is dangerous. We see Strange taken into custody, with Mordo lamenting “Your desecration of reality shall not go unpunished”. What follows are plenty of action scenes, a mystery voice saying “We should tell him”, and an appearance by Sinister Strange.

The first trailer for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was released as a post-credits scene in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” before coming online a few days later. Directed by Sam Raimi, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.

  1. I have to wonder from the opening lines if this means that Doctor Strange excluded himself from the spell at the end of the previous film.
