Disneyland to Improve Traffic Flow in New Orleans Square Before ‘Fantasmic’ Returns

According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland is about to launch a project to improve the traffic flow of New Orleans Square before “Fantasmic” returns on May 28.

This work will coincide with the closure and seasonal refurbishment of Pirates of the Caribbean, which is scheduled to begin on March 14.

Disney officials told OC Register that changes would be made to the extended queue of Pirates of the Caribbean so it no longer flows down the walkway next to Rivers of America. Some of the raised platforms and stairs near the waterfront will be lowered.

New trees and green space will be added to the area after work is completed. “Fantasmic” viewing areas and platforms along Rivers of America will not be changed.

  1. I remember watching it while standing outside the mickey pancakes restaurant. It was literally standing room only. Wife and ,3 kids with me. I hoisted each kid on my shoulders to see. I remember how happy my oldest kid was when she saw the paddle boat go buy with all the Disney characters on board. Always have those great memories.
