Pirates of the Caribbean Photo Ops Decorate Construction Walls in New Orleans Square at Disneyland

Through sometime this summer, Pirates of the Caribbean is closed for refurbishment at Disneyland. Construction walls with pirate-themed photo ops now surround the attraction and some of New Orleans Square.

Traffic flow will be improved in New Orleans Square during this time.

A sign lets guests know the pirates “aren’t sailing to-day.”

The photo ops have taped-off squares on the ground indicating where guests should stand.

This first one features the scene from the end of the attraction where pirates try to get a key from a dog. Guests can stand in place of the dog.

The next features pirates singing “yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” Guests can pretend to play an instrument with them.

All three photo ops have a logo for the 55th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean.

The final photo op lets guests act like they’re carrying treasure chests next to the pirate climbing into a rowboat.

  1. Any reopening date? Worried this more detailed wall hints at a lengthier refurbishment. Hoping for early June!

  2. I was impressed with Disneyland first started using scrims with prints of the buildings that were being refurbished so photos would still “kind of” look like they weren’t covered.

But I like these photo ops on the construction walls.
