BREAKING: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to Use Virtual Queue and Individual Lightning Lane, No Standby

Disney has released more information about the grand opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. They have confirmed that the ride will only offer virtual queue.

The announcement reads, ”When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens, a virtual queue will be in place. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to enter the attraction. A standby queue will not be available. Each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.”

It will be available as an Individual Lightning Lane purchase as well.

It’s unclear if standby will be available in the future, but based on the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, we expect to see it in a few months.

  1. Looking forward to a strategy guide on how us non resort guests will be able to snag a ride once it opens.

  2. I’m EXTREMELY disappointed to hear this! My daughter is disabled and we always use DAS pass system.. if there’s lightening lane availability how do I use that with das?

    • No worries, you will use both the virtual queue & DAS. Sign up your party for the virtual queue, and when your party’s time arrives, go to the ride & let cast members know you have a DAS member in your party. They will direct you to the correct entrance to the ride for your group. It’s often, but not always, the lightning lane entrance.

  3. so you pay the money to enter the park but disney under the rule of bob the beancounter does not consider you to be special enough for certain rides. how magical, eh? by the way beancounter, not everyone has a smart phone to stick their heads into all day long to experience the magic!

  4. Walt Disney was a great man. Unfortunately, the people who now control his company suck royally.

  5. Individual Lightning Lane specifies that you can only do up to two paid attractions per day. At most other parks, there are only 2 rides with ILL, but EPCOT will now have 3 with this Cosmos Rewind. Does that mean you CAN’T ride one of the three even if you pay???
