Rockwork continues to be shaped at the site of Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana,” a new walkthrough attraction coming to EPCOT.
The rockwork is now surrounded by scaffolding, which crew members were on this morning.
On the ground in front of it, other crew members were working on a rectangular wooden structure.
The rockwork has been steadily growing for just over a week.
The mesh used to create the rocks and spray-painted numbers for the workers are still visible.
More and more vertical poles have gone up around other structures.
Strips of steel were staged nearby.
The ground around several walls at the center of the construction site has been flattened.
An excavator sat nearby.
Another excavator was clearing land out of a trench.
Pipes and concrete walls are visible in the trench.
Scaffolding is also atop the concrete structure in the ground.
We saw a few crew members working around that structure.
Since it was erected a few weeks ago, we haven’t seen much change to the tower structure — in the back right of the photo above.
There is no opening timeframe for Journey of Water. Check out the concept art below.

I appreciate the pictures but can wdwnt get someone with a little construction knowledge to review these posts? the “wood boxes” are forms for concrete pours. The “mesh used to shape the rocks” is wire mesh reinforcement for the concrete work.
I don’t see the difference in the second part, the wire mesh becomes the rock work.
