The Walt Disney World art installation on the Hollywood Plaza parking garage on I-Drive has been turned on.
The screen was fully installed a week ago but has been dormant until now. The first Walt Disney World Store will open later today on the ground floor.
Crew members in cherry pickers were performing final checks on the ribbon-like screen.
The current art display honors the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.
Cinderella Castle, with a “50” at the center, is at the corner of the screen. It stays there for the whole video loop.
Magic sparkles spread from the castle to the sides, revealing each Fab 50 character one at a time.
Minnie, Figment, and Goofy appear on the side facing Sand Lake Road.
Mickey, Orange Bird, and Donald appear on the I-4 side.
This side also reads “Tickets available here,” referring to the Walt Disney World Store.
The store will be opening between 11:00 a.m. and noon today, according to Cast Members on site. Stay tuned for our coverage.
