Disney Cruise Line is launching a new version of their internet offering based on the number of days used instead of the amount of data.

There will be three new internet packages.
Stay Connected
Guests can select this package to access social media for either $12 per day, purchased by the day, or $10 per day for the length of cruise.
Basic Surf
Basic Surf includes social media and access to the web and email for $24 a day, purchased by the day, or $20 per day for the length of cruise.
Premium Surf
The highest tier of internet packages includes social media, web and email access, video streaming, and music streaming for $36 a day, purchased by the day, or $30 per day for the length of cruise.
There will also be discounts based on the number of devices added to the internet package.
The updated internet packages will launch on the Disney Magic first and then on the Disney Wish when it sets sail this summer. It will later be rolled out to the Disney Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy.

I see this as a win. Unless you setup your phone properly, the pay by data option would cause you to lose all of your data in a matter of seconds thanks to your phone pulling emails and other data intensive background actions.
heck, i thought disney wanted for us minions to keep our heads in our smartphone all day to enjoy their “magical experience”. now they want to charge us for it? i called this months ago folks. wait until you see the charges for accessing my disney experience. or just to get access to your room on disney property. hope the shareholders meeting gets rid of the chapek curse upon your magical experience!
