RUMOR: Avengers Assemble Flight Force Reportedly Closing for Update After Disappointing Executives & Guests at Disneyland Paris

Avengers Assemble Flight Force opened last month with the rest of Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. The new Marvel ride replaced Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith, using the same building and track (with heaviest modifications to the exterior and queue space). Guest reactions to Avengers Assemble Flight Force are skewing negative and executives are reportedly just as disappointed by it.

According to OutsidEars, CEO Bob Chapek and Chairman of Disney Parks Josh D’Amaro specifically were reported as disappointed with Avengers Assemble Flight Force. They reportedly liked the queue and pre-show, but the actual ride failed to meet expectations.

OutsidEars reports that Walt Disney Imagineering and Disneyland Paris are already working on several update to the ride that could add more screens and effects, in addition to perfecting the effects already in place that may have an unfinished feel to them.

The attraction could close in early 2023, during the slow season of January through March, for this refurbishment, but nothing has been confirmed.

  1. Boy, for Bob Cheapek to be disappointed, the ride must be a cup of suck. The Avengers areas at these parks are super boring to begin with. I have zero interest in them. And while I’m on the subject, the refurbishment of the Hotel New York turned out to be garish.

  2. It’s almost as if being tightfisted with budgets and making countless cutbacks to appease shareholders leads to lackluster results… odd.

    • Exactly what I was going to mention. The problem with a business man in charge who is only in touch with $$ and not the experience.

  3. The worst Disney roller coaster ever.
This update is mandatory otherwise this tiny land would be a bigger disappointment.

    • I rode it. The coaster itself is rough, but the fx around the coaster is meh outside of the end where they were shooting lasers near you. You could easily see the screens while thats not the thing Disney wants. Also a minus is that Iron Man speaks french and theres NO subtitles or something in the pre show. I hope they will update the coaster soon, otherwise i hope that they will break it down because it was very dissapointing.

  4. Why in god’s green earth are Friday and Captain Marvel in 100% English while Tony is in French?

Seriously Bree Larson is an English as a second language person. Her First language is French. They couldn’t let her speak French? This has to be insulting to the locals.

  5. I hope the ride is not as bad as people say after being closed for approx 2 years you would have thought they would have done a bit more than add a few screens. I will make up my own mind in November when I hope to visit Avengers Campus for myself.

  6. Just went a couple weeks ago. As someone who has been to Disney California over a dozen times and World as well, this was one of the best rollercoasters we have ridden. Nothing like it in California. Only inside rollercoaster there is really Space Mt and it doesn’t even invert. Tons of twist and turns. Did feel similar to Hollywood Studios Aerosmith ride in World (the same ride this obviously replaced in Paris) but I loved it. The boring Avengers preamble was just dressing for the good rollercoaster. I didn’t pay much attention to what was happening on the screens. It didn’t matter. It was just a pause before being sent on more twists around the track. Would do it 50 more times. Wish original park would do more of this. Even Paris’ Hyperspace Mt is a better ride than Cali.
